HORRIFIC VIOLENCE AT FORT HOOD IS SHOCKING!
The Islamic Council of New England strongly condemns the brutal murders committed last Thursday, November 5th, at the Fort Hood Army post in Killeen, Texas. News of this came as a shock to Muslim leaders and individuals throughout the greater New England area as it did to those throughout this entire nation. The Islamic Council of New England joins other Muslim organizations around the nation as well as people of all faiths in condemning this terrible act. We urge the authorities to investigate thoroughly the motives behind this crime. Islam is firm with regard to standing up for justice and we as Muslims are obliged to uphold this principle, regardless of the perpetrators or the victims. We urge calmness and unity and prayer for the deceased and their loved ones.
We continue to work proactively with all communities in the New England area to live with mutual respect of each other. We pray to The Most Merciful and Compassionate God for peace and security in these difficult times. Reza Mansoor President
